History of Rolls Royce Phantoms

These days the Rolls Royce Phantom is one of the most sought after cars in the world. There have been a number of Phantom models released over the years. The range actually started in 1925 with the Rolls Royce Phantom I. This model was the second car in the 40/50 hp line.

Since the first model there have been five additional Phantom’s released. The second model lasted from 1929-1936, then the next ran from 1936-1939. The Phantom IV wasn’t released after that until 1950 and it ran until 1959.

The biggest gap in production came between the Phantom VI and the present day Phantom. The Phantom VI ran from 1968-1991 and then the present day model wasn’t released until 2003. There are now three different models in the range including the coupe and the Drophead coupe. 

Put simple, the Rolls Royce Phantom has been a luxury car for more than a century. It is now one of the most popular (and most expensive) hire cars in the world.
